Affordability is the #1 issue hurting people today. That’s not just in upstate New York; it’s everywhere in rural and suburban places in our country. Simply put, economic opportunities are not being equally shared. This drives up the price of groceries and housing relative to our earnings. More local job opportunities are needed.
Another problem is the cost and availability of heath care. Health care costs take too much out of our paychecks. Too much goes to big pharma and healthcare providers at the expense of patients and taxpayers. The loss of locally available healthcare is also a problem. Regional hospitals offer good jobs and care that people need.
I can help New York by fighting to bring industry back. In the U.S., success comes from giving people a fair, even playing field and then letting them excel. But that can’t happen when job opportunities are unavailable and pay goes to only the top few people in a company. I will work to make our part of New York economically competitive through new job opportunities, so people can build their own success. Attracting industry and technology is the key.
About me
I’m an engineer and entrepreneur from Manchester, NY in Ontario County.
I grew up on a part-time farm raising corn and pigs. I was a 10-year member of 4-H. I learned the value of hard work.
I also gained technical skill repairing cars, trucks, snowmobiles and tractors. I’m an advanced-level DIY enthusiast who still does his own house and car repairs. My passions are snowmobiling (<3 Tug Hill!) and dirt-track car racing.
I’ve lived a part of my life in Washington State. There I worked as an electrical power engineer in the oil and gas sector. I’ve also worked as a software entrepreneur, founding a company that builds software utilities for retail product search.
My public service has been as a Trustee for the Village of Manchester, a Planning Board member, and as a Citizen Oversight Panel member for a public transit administration. In Manchester, we fought hard for and succeeded in building a $1M development of the Canandaigua Outlet linear park.
