How Blue Dogs help America’s industries

The Blue Dogs advocate for a local-centric legislative (LCL) approach.  That means our coalition thrives on the details.  We want to know and understand your industry, your success criteria, your customers, your workers, your region, and especially your roadblocks.  We want to know what you care about, so that we can possibly help.

Traditional industries and non-urban focus

Because our coalition is focused on the problems and opportunities of rural districts, we can take a view that other representatives either don’t know about or possibly even care about.  For certain industries, companies and regions, we think we’re a better fit for some of your government policy expenditures than anyone else.

Some of the industries where we particularly excel are:

  • Agriculture

  • Automotive and Transportation Equipment

  • Food and Beverage Processing

  • Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals

  • Machinery and Industrial Equipment

  • Energy and Petroleum

  • Electronics and Semiconductors

  • Aerospace and Defense

Policies advanced and opposed

The legislative policies that we advocate for are fiscally conservative (FC), moderate commonsense regulation, and pro-business.  We strive for a settled, stable and predictable business environment that enables profitable companies, job creation, and economic opportunity for workers.  We do not see these as competing objectives.  Well paid workers and profitable, growing companies either exist together or neither exists at all.  It’s a balance.

Blue Dogs are a bulwark against polarization and extremism. We are the most effective vehicle for electing business-friendly Democrats — particularly in Republican-leaning districts. We are a hedge against the weak and volatile representatives of the Republican Party. Currently, from month-to-month and even week-to-week, party members themselves don’t know what President Trump’s next whim will be. So how can they give guidance to you?

A swing bloc that’s on your side

The Blue Dog’s are a growing network that works to create a business environment that’s stable and predictable, so you can better manage your business.

The Blue Dog’s are also a key — and growing — swing bloc in the current political landscape.  Having insight and representation from within our coalition is a wise hedge against the extremist positions of progressive Democrats and reflexive Trump-supporting Republicans.

We seek questions, connections, and conversations with policy leaders at corporations and industry associations in the industries listed above, particularly if you’re business includes rural regions of the Midwest, Inland Northeast, South, Rocky Mountain region or Inland West.
